Binay: Enough of mediocrity in gov’t

/ 09:53 PM March 20, 2016

CEBU CITY—Vice President Jejomar Binay ended his speech by repeating his campaign of eliminating poverty the same way he did in Makati, opting to keep mum on the issues of corruption hurled against him during the second “PiliPinas” presidential debate here.

Binay vowed to stop mediocrity in government if he would be elected the country’s next president in the upcoming May elections.

He repeated his feats in Makati of increasing its budget at a time the financial district was buried in debts upon coming in as Makati mayor.

He also vowed to eliminate poverty in the entire country the same way he did when he was Makati mayor.

“Mga kababayan (My fellow countrymen), enough of [mediocrity] in government. Gawa, hindi dada (There should be actions, not mere words),” Binay said.

“Pag ako naging pangulo, dala dala ko po ang malawak na karanasan sa pamahalan…Walang mamamatay sa Makati sa sakit dahil sa kahirapan, libre ang lahat ng mga pangangailangan,” Binay said.

(If I become the president, I am carrying with me my vast experience in government. No one will die in Makati from poverty, all of their necessities are free.)

“Ito ang aking palagay (I think) the Filipino people deserve no less for the president. Ako si Jojo Binay, ang inyong pangalawang pangulo na kandidato niyo po sa pangulo. Number one po ako sa balota (I am Jojo Binay, your vice president, who is running for president. I’m number one in the ballot),” he added. RAM
