Duterte reveals longtime friend owns chopper used in his campaign sorties
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Who owns the chopper Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte used during his campaign sorties?
Duterte bared the owner of the chopper he used during a campaign sortie here.
He said the chopper, with body number RP C2048, was owned by his friend Archie Poe of Lion Air, who only charged him “operational costs.”
“Matagal ko nang kaibigan yan, long time ago. Umiikot pa kami ng Pilipinas niyan, nagmo-motor kami,” he said.
(We have been friends for a long time. We have been going around the Philippines using motorcycle.)
The tough-talking mayor has repeatedly vowed he would not receive any contribution from individuals with vested interests.
He said he does not want a presidency hinged on debt of gratitude.
Other presidential candidates Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Sen. Grace Poe earlier declared the owner of the choppers they used during their campaign sorties.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, meanwhile, said he would reveal the owner of his chopper after the elections. RAM
