CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – A man suspected of stealing game fowl was shot dead in a firefight with police in San Ildefonso town on Tuesday.

The slain man and three other men were on board a yellow vehicle, and were carrying 15 cock-fighting roosters that were reported stolen in neighboring San Miguel town.

The police gave chase, but were fired upon, triggering the 6 a.m. gun battle along Barangay (village) San Juan, said Senior Supt. Timoteo Pacleb, Bulacan police director. Police have not yet identified the slain suspect.
