Binay, Roxas slip in latest SWS poll; Duterte, Poe tied in 2nd

Vice President Jejomar Binay slipped in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey but remained the top candidate preferred by Filipinos to be the country’s next president.

The results of the poll, which was first published on BusinessWorld on Monday, saw Binay’s rating go down to 29 percent from 31 percent in January.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and independent presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe were “statistically tied” in second place at 24 percent.

The latest rating of Duterte taken in the first week of February was four points higher than his 20 percent rating in January.

In fourth place is administration bet Manuel “Mar” Roxas II who suffered a decline in his rating from January’s 21 percent to 18 percent this month.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago only got four percent of the respondents to choose her as their preferred candidate.

The survey was conducted from Feb. 5 to 7 with 1,200 validated voters as respondents and with sampling error margins of ±3 points.
