Baguio chills at 11.2 Celsius, Mt. Sto. Tomas cooler at 9.5 Celsius

BAGUIO CITY—The mercury is descending in the summer capital, which is perfect as it stages the 21st Panagbenga Flower Festival this month.

Students and workers bundled up on Tuesday morning when the temperature dipped to 11.2 degrees Celsius, from 11.5 degrees Celsius on Monday, the Chinese New Year, said Efren Dalipog, weather observer of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) station here.

However, it’s even colder in Mt. Sto Tomas in Tuba, Benguet where the weather observer recorded a temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius.

Mt. Sto Tomas is the highest point in Baguio, sitting at 2025 meters above sea level.

On Monday, the Pagasa radar station recorded 8.7 degrees at Mt. Sto. Tomas. RAM
