MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Depression “Ramon” is now heading towards Mindoro, putting Manila under storm signal No. 1, as its movement changed to the northwest direction, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on its latest weather update.
Maintaining its maximum winds of 55 kilometer per hour near the center, Ramon was seen 70 kilometer southwest of Romblon, or at 70 kilometer east of San Jose Occidental Mindoro at 4 p.m, the state-run weather bureau said.
If Ramon continues to move Northwest at 15 kilometers per hour, it will be at 230 kilometers west of Calapan City Thursday afternoon, 390 kilometer west of Iba, Zambales on Friday afternoon, and 550 kilometer west of Vigan, Ilocos Sur by Saturday morning, Pagasa said.
It added that Public Storm Warning Signal No.1 is now over Metro Manila, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, Southern Quezon, Burias Island, Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas.
In Visayas, islands of Panay and Guimaras remains under signal number 1, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau continuous to remind residents in low-lying and mountainous areas under storm signals to stay alerted against possible flash floods and landslides.
Ramon, the bureau said, has an estimated 5 to 25 mm per hour (heavy) amount of rainfall within its 400 kilometer diameter.
