MANILA, Philippines — Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on Christmas eve vowed to further improve the judicial system of the country.
Gesmundo made the pronouncement as he called on the public to come together as a community “dedicated to the common goal of ensuring that justice prevails in our country.”
“Reforms and innovations are underway, and it will not be long before we realize our vision of a more efficient and more responsive judiciary,” said Gesmundo in a statement.

“I know that the work is not easy, and it often demands great sacrifice, but it is only through our collective efforts that we can transform this vision into reality,” he added.
With this, Gesmundo also called on the public to embody the teachings of Christ in fostering love and forgiveness, as well as to be understanding of one another.
He then expressed thanks in making the judiciary a “beacon of hope” in society.
