Poe hints Binay, Roxas behind disqualification cases

Sen. Grace Poe on Wednesday hinted that two of her rivals for the presidential post—Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas—were behind the series of disqualification cases against her.
Facing the media a day after the Commission on Elections second division granted a petition seeking to disqualify her from the race, Poe lamented that moves to stop her bid had already intensified.

Asked who she thought were behind such efforts, Poe said: “Eh di yung mga katunggali ko na dalawa na sigurado ako may mga taong ’yun na nagpaharap ng mga kasong yun.”
She added: “Alam na ninyo ang mga koneksyon. Basta ganito, makikita naman ninyo sa mga galaw nila. Sino bang may mga koneksyon sa may malalakas na mga law firm? Sino bang alam nating mga dati pang kaalyado ng mga ibang tumatakbo?”
“Basta para sa akin po, itapon na ninyo lahat ’yan, gusto nyong gawin ’yan para ma-disqualify ako, tatanggapin ko naman lahat ’yan. Maglaban tayo sa tamang paraan basta lamang ang ating sinusulong ay para sa kabutihan ng ating mga kababayan, hindi lamang para sa mga personal na interest lamang nyo para kayo ang magwagi.”
“I just feel that somebody’s behind it. Now am I being harassed? I’m just doing what I need to do to be able to go through the process, to be able to overcome this hurdle,” the senator added.

Pressed to name the two opponents, the senator suddenly ended the interview. But after a couple of minutes, her staff member announced that she would come back and answer more questions from the media.
When she returned, Poe asked for understanding from the media, saying she only had to take a break.
Asked to confirm if the two rivals she was referring to were Binay and Roxas, Poe said: “Oo, sila naman yun e.”
But Poe quickly added: “Hindi. Ang sinabi ko ’yung mga tumatakbo ngayon. Nasa sa inyo na po pero ’yun yung sinasabi ko.”
“Yung issue dapat sino ba ang dapat na tanggalin? Di ba mas mabigat talaga ang konsiderasyon ng korapsyon at konsiderasyon ng panglalamang sa kapwa nya o ang konsiderasyon sa hindi pag ganap ng trabaho, nililihis po nila ang usapin para hindi po mapansin ang mga bagay na yan,” she said.
“Pero hindi na po ako natatakot, eh sa dami na po na talagang binabato ninyo, mas lalo pong tumitibay ang loob ko na hindi natin dapat payagan ang mga ganito na mamuno sa ating bayan,” Poe added. CDG/RC
