Luis’ step-father, Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto, is also part of the Poe-Escudero slate dubbed as “Partido Galing at Puso.”
The actor-host said he came to show his support not only for his biological father but also for his step-father, husband of Batangas Governor Vilma Santos.
Luis said they were surprised when they first learned that Edu will run for senator.
“After he told us, no questions asked,” he told reporters in mixed English and Filipino, adding that the family is 100 percent behind Edu’s senatorial bid.
Luis said he would try to join the campaigns of the two senatorial bets, and his mother, who is seeking a seat at the House of Representatives.
“I’ll try myself because I have to separate my Dad’s campaign, my Mom’s campaign, my Tito Ralph campaign…” he further said. RAM
