Woman found tied up, dead in parked car in Cebu City

CEBU CITY — An unidentified woman was found dead inside an abandoned green Kia Picanto parked along the Almendras St., near corner F. Cabahug St., Mabolo, Cebu City.

The woman sustained gunshot wound in the head with her legs tied with a gray packaging tape. Packaging tape was also seen in one of her hands, indicating that her hands could have been tied too.

Her body was found at the center of the front seats with the head at the back seat area.

Homicide investigators found a bullet slug, possible from .45 caliber, was found inside the car.

She was wearing a checkered long-sleeve with jeans. A gallon of gasoline was also found inside the vehicle together with a cellphone and other items. She was still wearing a necklace and bracelet.

At the baggage compartment of the car with plate number YDL 514, homicide investigator Romel Bangcog said, they found inside the car an ID card bearing the name of Agnelen E. Uy with contact person Wayne Christopher Uy from Bacayan, Cebu City.

But Bangcog said they could not confirm yet if the ID card belonged to the woman.

Security Guard Wilfredo Paspi of the nearby Alcon Building claimed he already saw the parked car at 7 p.m. Wednesday but he did not bother to check it until past 6 a.m. on Thursday when he was surprised to see the car still parked in the area.

But when he checked it, he saw a body with the feet tied, so he called up the police hotline 166 at 6:21 a.m.

No witness had yet come forward. Captain Rey Ompoc said the area was not frequented by people. Most of the houses in area also have high fences. CDG
