The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday reminded taxi drivers and commuters that the P10-rollback in the flag-down rate of all taxicabs nationwide is still in effect.
Roberto Cabrera, executive director of the LTFRB, said the agency has not issued an order revoking their March 9 order, which ordered a provisional P10-rollback on the flag-down rate for taxis nationwide.

Cabrera said board members of the LTFRB would issue a decision on Friday whether to grant the petition of taxi operators and drivers to bring back the flag-down rate to P40.
He warned that taxi drivers who would violate the rollback would be slapped with a hefty fine.
LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez has earlier warned taxi drivers that it would enforce the “full force of the law” against those who refuse to abide by the reduced taxi flag-down rate.

The LTFRB urged commuters to report taxi drivers who refuse to acknowledge the P10-rollback through the agency’s number at 426-2515 or through 09214487777 or on its Twitter account @LTFRB_Chairman. With a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM and Angeli Mae S. Cantillana, INQUIRER.net trainee/IDL
