4 suspected drug pushers nabbed in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY- Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Western Visayas (PDEA-6) arrested four suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation past 3 a.m. on Friday after P600,000 worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized from them.

 
Ricardo Fuentes of Negros Occidental and Renante Atamosa, 35, of Cebu were arrested inside a pension house on Ledesma Street in Iloilo City.

 
Seized from Fuentes was a belt bag containing 20 sachets of shabu. Atamosa was the one who made the transaction.

Paul Ledesma, PDEA-6 director, said they went to the terminal after learning that two of the suspects’ companions were coming in from Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.
PDEA agents proceeded to the Tagbak terminal and arrested Rogelio Moleta 19, of Silay City and Richard Nalajunan, 30 of Talisay City.

The suspects were detained at PDEA detention cell pending the filing of case for violation of R.A. 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as amended.

 
​“These suspects are experts in drug dealing. They know how to divert the attention of our PDEA operatives. We are still checking their background and connections to other drugs groups,” Ledesma said.
