Cudia was expelled from the PMA on his senior year after allegedly lying as to why he was late for class.

Lying is a violation in the academy, where there is a strict implementation of the Honor Code that says “one must not lie, cheat and steal nor tolerate those who do.”

According to lawyer Persida Acosta, Cudia’s legal counsel, the dismissed PMA cadet is considered a bachelor’s degree holder since he “completed all academic requirements” at the PMA.

Eligible for law school?

Acosta said his dismissal from the country’s premiere military school would only affect his eligibility to be a commissioned soldier.

“What he cannot acquire is the second personality of a PMAer, which is to be commissioned as a soldier,” she said.

Cudia’s camp has asked the high court to allow him to have his diploma and other school records “so he can start a new life.”

But the Supreme Court on February affirmed the decision of the PMA dismissing him from the academy for violating its Honor Code.

Cudia’s camp, however, has asked the Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling.

In a 28-page motion for reconsideration, Cudia said that his right to due process was violated when he was dismissed.
