Water level in Marikina River reaches second alarm; 3 villages monitored

MANILA, Philippines – The water level in the Marikina River has reached second alarm after it has reached 16 meters, according to a report on Radyo Inquirer 990AM, quoting Rescue 161.

At least 21 families evacuated their homes voluntarily, although there have been no flooding so far, the report said, quoting Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman.

Meanwhile, at least three villages – Dakla, Tumana and Malanday – are being closely monitored by police in case the water lever in Marikina River rises further due to heavy rains spawned by Typhoon “Pedring”, Senior Superintendent Gabriel Lopez of the Marikina Police said.
