Gutter-deep floods now in some parts of metro—MMDA

MANILA, Philippines—Heavy rains induced by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Phanfone (local name Neneng) triggered gutter-deep floods in several parts of Metro Manila Thursday, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
MMDA said gutter-deep flood hit the following areas but is still passable to all types of vehicles.

  • Commonwealth Tandang Sora Westside westbound, Quezon City
  • Edsa Ortigas Intersection
  • Edsa SM Megamall
  • C5 Ortigas Avenue north and southbound

Meanwhile, a four-inch deep flood hit C-5 Road and Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.

The MMDA metrobase told INQUIRER.net that moderate to heavy traffic is experience on the north and southbound of the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
