Hunt on for man in fatal shooting of boy in Makati
MANILA, Philippines—Police are tracking down a man who allegedly shot dead an 11-year-old boy in Barangay East Rembo Thursday morning.
Superintendent Jaime Santos, Makati Police OIC identified the suspect as Jude Darang, 29, whom witnesses tagged as the one who shot Aljon Rasa in the torso with an improvised shotgun.
Police also discovered that another victim, identified as Eduardo Darang, had sustained multiple stab wounds but it was yet unclear if the suspect was also responsible.
Responding police officers from the barangay’s police community precinct, who were alerted by the suspect’s neighbors, arrived at the crime scene and invited the suspect’s brother, Dave Rasa, 19, to shed light on the incident.
Santos said Jude was nowhere to be found when the police came and they were still investigating as to who stabbed Eduardo.
“The victims and the suspect live in the same house. Apparently there was a quarrel and the boy was shot during the fight,” Santos said.
