Defective train paralyzes half of MRT line
MANILA, Philippines – Another technical malfunction left the Metro Rail Transit – Line 3 (MRT-3) half-paralyzed for an hour on Sunday, a spokesperson said.
Atty. Hernando Cabrera, spokesperson of the MRT and Light Rail Transit Administration (LRTA), confirmed that the beleaguered train line again suffered problems.
“MRT3 defective train at Buendia Station, half life operation, North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard and back only implemented at around 10:30 a.m.,” he said over Twitter.
He later announced that full line operations were restored at around 11:30 a.m.
Radio reports said passengers were asked to disembark from the defective train so it could be pushed by another train.
