Gigi Reyes conversant but no appetite–doctor

MANILA, Philippines – The former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile is conversant but hasn’t been eating well, her doctor said in a statement Friday.

Lawyer Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes “can sit on bed and [is] more conversant. She still claimed to have loss of appetite and have dizziness upon walking to the comfort room,” Dr. Anthony Lontoc, a cardiologist said in his update of Reyes’ medical condition after she was brought to Taguig Pateros District Hospital Thursday.

Lontoc said, however, that Reyes no longer had palpitations and her back pain has improved.

He said two medicines were being administered to Reyes for hypertension.

On Friday morning, Reyes’ blood pressure was recorded at 110/70.

Reyes, a co-accused of Enrile for graft and plunder did not appear before the Sandiganbayan for her scheduled arraignment due to her medical condition.

She was supposed to be placed under the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Taguig but was confined instead at the city’s hospital after experiencing a panic attack.
