Meralco lineman shot, injured while cutting illegal connections

MANILA, Philippines – An employee of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) was injured after he was shot while cutting illegal power  connections at the Port Area in Manila on Friday, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported.

A separate radio report identified the Meralco lineman as Jobylen Salazar Hamile, who fell down from the electric post after he was shot in the arm.

The victim was brought to the Manila Doctors Hospital.

Manila Police District with its Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team failed to find the gunman in the nearby buildings.
