Fires hit Manila’s Port Area, Malabon

MANILA, Philippines–A fire is currently engulfing a residential and commercial area in Port Area, Manila Monday noon.

Media reports said that as of ‎12 p.m., authorities have placed the fire under third alarm.

This is the second fire that hit Metro Manila on‎ Monday.

Earlier, a fire that lasted for five hours hit Barangay (village) Tonsuya in Malabon, gutting 200 homes and leaving five residents wounded.

The blaze started at 12 a.m. and was put out at 5 a.m. after it had reached Task Force Charlie.

A radio report said a certain Elizabeth Villegas, who was said to be a Person With Disability (PWD), had gone missing after the incident.

Authorities are still searching for Villegas as of posting time.
