Power interruption hits Rizal province

MANILA, Philippines – An emergency power interruption hit Cainta and Taytay, Rizal on Saturday afternoon, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said.

In its official Twitter account, Meralco said the power interruption occurred at 1:37 p.m.

It did not state the reason, although Metro Manila and nearby areas have been grappling with a power shortage due to a greater demand for than supply of electricity in power generators.

“All efforts are being exerted to restore power in the remaining areas as soon as possible,” Meralco said.
