Meralco warns of rotating brownout in parts of Metro Manila, Bulacan
MANILA, Philippines—Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Friday warned of an hour of rotating brownouts affecting portions of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Marilao, Bulacan.
In its Twitter account, Meralco said this is due to a power supply deficiency.
A television report said the power deficiency was caused by a zero power reserve in the Luzon grid from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This, in turn, was due to an emergency shutdown in the Pagbilao power plant in Quezon, the report said.
