American shot by burglar at Mandaue home

AN American national was shot and wounded by a suspected burglar who barged into his home in barangay Agus, Mandaue City, last Thursday night.

John William Mallory, 60, was wounded in the waist. He was confined at the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.

Police said the intruder entered the American’s home around 10 p.m., passing at the glass door at the back of the house.

The intruder then went to the second floor of the house. The American was at the master’s bedroom where his mini office was also located.

The intruder tried to run away when he saw the American.

Mallory tried to give chase but the man shot him in the waist.

In Cebu City, two persons fell prey to armed robbers in separate incidents at dawn yesterday.

Melchor Lim, 34, came from a wake in barangay Camputhaw and was heading home when a man pointed a knife in his neck and held him up.

The robber took Lim’s silver necklace worth P1,500.
