Graduating cadets on Cudia: ‘We have an honor code to follow’
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines—Graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Siklab Diwa” Class of 2014 is saddened by the dismissal of Cadet Jeff Aldrin Cudia but was firm on saying they respected the decision of the honor committee upholding his dismissal.
“We are saddened but we have an honor code to follow,” class valedictorian Cadet First Class Jheorge Llona told reporters Saturday in an interview after the awarding ceremony of outstanding PMA graduates.
Cudia is facing dismissal from the premier military school for allegedly breaking the academy’s honor code.
The 22-year-old cadet pointed out that they entered the academy governed by the honor code and Cudia should abide by and respect the decision.
But Llona said that their class was still united despite the controversy.

Article continues after this advertisementLlona, born to a farming clan in the remote village of Maopi in Daraga, Albay, will lead the 222-strong Siklab Diwa Class on Sunday when President Beningo Aquino III formally commissions them as first lieutenants and ensigns of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
He will receive the Presidential Saber, the Philippine Air Force Saber, the Academic Group Award, the Management Plaque, the Air Force Professional Courses Plaque, the Jusmag Award, the Gen. Antonio Luna Award and the Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award.
