One dead, minor hurt in Navotas shooting

MANILA, Philippines — One man was dead and a minor injured in what police said was a shooting incident in Navotas City Saturday morning.

Based on initial reports reaching the city’s Tactical Operations Center, two men on board a motorcycle were being pursued by a policeman from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Tumana, Tabing Ilog, Barangay (village) NBBS at 10:30 a.m.
The reason for the pursuit was still undetermined.

The driver of the motorcycle was dead on the spot after being hit by a bullet, while his passenger managed to escape, according to the initial report.

A minor who passed by the area at that time was injured by a stray bullet and has been rushed to a hospital in Tondo, Manila.

The police have yet to obtain other details from the incident as Scene of the Crime Operatives have yet to arrive at the scene, the TOC said.
