Classes suspended in Agaton-hit provinces – DepEd

MANILA, Philippines – At least two provinces suspended all class levels on Monday due to Tropical Depression Agaton, the Department of Education (DepEd) said in its Twitter account.

No classes in all levels were declared in Compostela Valley and Agusan Del Norte, DepEd tweeted Sunday.

Weather forecaster Pagasa noted heavy to intense rains over portions of Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte, due to Agaton.

Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally heavy rains were expected over Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Camiguin, Davao del Sur and North Cotabato, Pagasa added.

Meanwhile, all class levels were suspended on Monday in Pulilan, Bulacan for its 218th Foundation celebration, DepEd said.

Also, no classes in all levels were declared from kinder to high school in San Juan City, Metro Manila due to the opening of the National Capital Region “Palarong Panrehiyon 2014,” the Official Gazette tweeted citing DepEd.
