MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished debris-clearing of national highways in regions 6, 7, and 8 to accelerate relief distribution, Secretary Herminio Coloma of the Presidential Communications Operations Office said Thursday.
“This will pave the way for accelerated delivery of food, water and other necessities to typhoon [Yolanda] survivors,” Coloma said.
Cleared roads includes national road to Tacloban including Matnog RORO station going to Catbalogan and San Juanico to Tacloban.
Also cleared of rubbles were roads from Cebu to Ormoc going to Leyte. Coloma said DPWH is still in the process of clearing blocked roads on remote areas.
