COA shooting probe up to authorities, says Pulido-Tan
MANILA, Philippines – Commission on Audit (COA) chairperson Grace Pulido-Tan said Wednesday that she was leaving the investigation on the strafing of the COA main office Wednesday to “authorities.”
Unidentified gunmen fired at the Audit commission office along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City at about 7 a.m.
Quoted by Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Tan said CA would not stop performing its function to “guard the public funds.”
On August 16, COA revealed its special audit report on the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) which involved the alleged misuse of billions of pesos by lawmakers with businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles being tagged as the brains behind what is now known as the “pork barrel” scam.
Police Senior Superintendent Richard Albano, QCPD district director said that two slugs from an unknown firearm were recovered inside the office of Assistant Director Minda Planas.
