Man mauls mother to death

A MENTALLY unstable man mauled to death her 52-year-old mother in barangay Cabonga-an, San Francisco town in Camotes Island Cebu.

Police said Jovert Nudalo Otida repeatedly smashed with a rock the head of his mother Veronica.

The victim’s body was found outside their house Monday night.

Jovert was arrested after the incident but his father was unwilling to file charges against him.

The father said that due to financial constraintsm they are left with no choice but to just let their son stay at their home since they could not afford to bring him to a mental hospital.

PO3 Luifran Plaza said that because of his condition Jovert was locked up at their home for the past three days.
