A 40-year-old man died when a passenger bus hit the tricycle he was driving in barangay Argawanon, San Remigio town, northern Cebu Tuesday afternoon.

Rodulfo Banzon Jr. suffered head injuries. His two passengers Kristel Felix, 32, and Jennelyn Demiar, 22 survived the accident but sustained minor injuries.

Dolpe Cuambot, 36, driver of the Metro Cebu Autobus, was arrested after the incident.

Police said Cuambot tried to overtake another vehicle when he hit the tricycle.

The bus was bound for Bogo City.

Rodulfo was brought to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo City but did not make it alive.

Rodulfo is survived by his wife and four children. Rodulfo’s wife Narisa yesterday filed a complaint against Cuambot for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.

“I’m really worried on how I will continue to support my children since my husband was the breadwinner of our family,” Narisa said in Cebuano.

Alfonso Corominas, owner of the Metro Cebu Autobus Corp., said P100,000 in financial assistance will be given to the victim’s family.

Narisa said Corominas had told her to visit the bus company office in Cebu City to settle the matter.  /CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON

A PHYSICALLY challenged man was electrocuted in the middle of a heavy downpour yesterday afternoon in barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

The victim was identified only as a certain Allan. According to the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Allan, who was in crutches, leaned on an electrical wire when he was electrocuted.

A portion of the wire had been peeled off which may have caused the electrocution.

The victim was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center where he later died.  /CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
