Nurse killed in Lapu

A nurse was killed while a 21-year-old man was wounded in separate shooting incidents in Lapu-Lapu City.

Police identified the fatalities as Eddie Marasigan and Kent Amigable.

Police said Marasigan, a 25-year-old registered nurse, suffered gunshot wounds in the leg, abdomen, arms and nape.

Police said that around 3 a.m. yesterday, residents of sitio Caimitohan heard successive gunshots followed by a call for help.

A bloodied Marasigan, a resident of barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu, was later found slumped on the ground, SPO1 Allan Pantaleon said.

Marasigan was already unconscious when police arrived. The victim was brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital where he was declared dead by attending physicians.

The victim’s girlfriend, who is also a nurse, told police that she could not think of anyone who could be behind the attack.

In another incident which happened in barangay Mactan, Amigable was looking for spiders when he was shot by two unidentified assailants past 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Amigable, who was wounded in the body, ran for safety and was later brought to the hospital.

Amigable said he was not able to identify the assailants because the area was dark.
