UST cancels classes

MANILA, Philippines—Classes at different colleges of the University of Santo Tomas have been cancelled after heavy rains left España Boulevard submerged in floodwaters.

“No more classes at UST Faculty of Arts and Letters from 2 p.m. onwards,” read a text message from the Dean’s Office.

The UST Central Student Council announced on Twitter that classes have been cancelled as well in the following colleges:

  • CRS

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said that as of 2:57 p.m., España Boulevard in the vicinity of Antipolo and Maceda streets in Sampaloc, Manila were submerged under 22-inch-deep floodwater and not passable to light vehicles.
