The CPA order came after they removed the concrete and metal fences that blocked some roads last Friday.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said the City Legal Office will examine the city’s options on this case.

“The issue is ownership, and I have not seen any title of the CPA from the land registration office. We will carefully study this and look into a legal angle,” City Legal Officer Jerone Castillo said.

Sought for comment, CPA general manager Dennis Villamor said they were prohibited by the CPA board to comment on the issue.

Last Friday’s demolition of fences reopened Lapu-Lapu, P. Burgos and F. Gonzales streets.

Only four members in final PB session

THE final session of the old Provincial Board (PB) adjourned early yesterday for lack of quorum after boardmembers allied with the Liberal Party (LP) failed to show up.

The board members who attended yesterday’s session were Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president Jose Ribomapil Holganza Jr., Sun Shimura (4th district), Alex Binghay (3rd district) and Julian Daan (1st district.)

Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale was supposed to preside over the session but was absent to get an executive medical checkup. She told Cebu Daily News she had some back pain and needed to see a doctor: “Nothing serious but painful.”

Instead, it was Daan who led the session to a close and called the lack of quorum “historic.”

The board was supposed to give recognition to outgoing PB members Sergio Restauro (1st district), Wilfredo Caminero (2nd district) and Cesar Ian Zambo (3rd district) .

In a letter  to Provincial Secretary Anecita Pasaylo, Caminero said he couldn’t  attend due to official business matters. Zambo said he was in a meeting in Balamban town.

The younger Caminero, Aladin Wilyamie, was on sick leave while Carmen Durano-Meca of the 5th district said she was attending an “urgent” budget consultation conducted by the Capitol’s committee on finance.
