UV beats Ateneo, Springdale in BTC Cup

THE University of the Visayas made its presence felt in the 3rd BTC Cup by smashing separate teams last Sunday at Banilad Town Centre (BTC).

The young Lancers zoomed up to the top spot in Division C of 12-Under by beating the two top-seeded teams in the 3-on-3 hoopfest presented by Thirsty and Dimsum Break.

Lyder Kent Canieso led UV with a total of 13 points in both games, including their 11-2 massacre of PAREF Springdale-A. Later, the young Lancers crushed Sacred Heart School (SHS) Ateneo de Cebu-B, 7-4 and finished the day with a 4-0 win-loss card.

SHS-B and PAREF-A tied for second with 3-1 slates after the Titans beat Philippine Christian Gospel School (PCGS), 4-2.

Sotero B. Cabahug (SBC) Forum for Literacy and Southwestern University tied for the top spot in the 12-Under Division A with 3-0 records.

In the 10-Under class, Team B of St. Paul Learning Center (SLPC) beat SHS-B, 8-3 while the lone PCGS team later bowed to the same Atenean squad, 4-5. The lone SIPS 10-Under team won against SHS-A, 3-2.

Even if SPLC-A had no game last Sunday, it remained on top with a 4-0 win-loss card while SHS-B is at second with a 4-2 card.  PR
