THE ADAMSON Soaring Falcons built up a 22-point lead but nearly blew it all as they survived a hard-fighting La Salle side, 68-66, in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Falcons took advantage of an awful-shooting Archers squad in the second period as they racked up 24 points while La Salle could only come up with two as Adamson zoomed to a 35-20 lead at halftime.
Meanwhile, the University of Sto. Tomas Tigers weathered a comeback try by the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons and won, 77-70. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
