De Luna, Chua win in China Open

POWER breaker Jeffrey de Luna opened his bid on a high note after beating Chris Melling of Great Britain, 9-5 yesterday in the 2013 China 9-Ball Open in Shanghai, China.
Fondly called “The Bull” in the local pool, De Luna is the 2007 Manny Pacquiao International 9-Ball Open ruler and 2011 Philippine Olympic Committee (POC)-Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) National Games 9-Ball king.
Johann Gonzales Chua also won after downing Zeng Zhaodong of China, 9-3.
Other Pinoys seeing in action in the China meet are Dennis Orcollo, Carlo Biado, Lee Van Corteza and Alex Pagulayan, and Rubilen Amit and Iris Ranola. /Correspondent Marlon Bernardino
