The couple was brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital where the man was declared dead by the attending doctor.

The woman told police that she failed to recognize the perpetrator because the room was dark during the attack.

Virtudazo said Mangubat was a member of Bloods, a youth gang.

Two empty shells for 9mm caliber pistol were recovered in the crime scene.

SPO1 Allan Pantaleon, homicide investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), said gang rivalry is one of the angles being looked into as possible motives for the attack./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
