Cops round up carolers accused of harassing passengers

POLICE on Wednesday rounded up five jeepney carolers who were accused of harassing bus and jeepney passengers in Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City.

Christian Bacalso, Joemar Caballero, Jessie Lauron, Arnel Petallar and Samuel Yorangoren were released a day after they were arrested when no complainants showed up to file charges against them, said Insp. William Alicabam chief of the theft and robbery section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Senior Supt. Mariano Natue-l Jr, director of CCPO, said the five men would usually rode jeepney and buses and carol passengers with a rap song.

There were complaints that the five would threaten the passengers if they refuse to give them money.

Petallar denied the allegations against them.
