MAN STABBED DEAD

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed dead by his male companion while they were walking along a road in barangay Sto. Niño, Cebu City.

Police found Cenon Gallardo, 23, slumped on the ground with a knife still stuck in his back.

Police said Gallardo, a resident of barangay Ermita, Cebu City, was seen walking with a man on Juan Luna Street past 5 p.m. Thursday. The two men argued until the other man stabbed the victim and fled.

Police said the victim was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly snatching the earrings of a woman.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN CONSOLACION

A 30-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead a few minutes after a store was burglarized in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Ryan Dabalos was shot in the head.

The victim’s uncle, Manuel Misa, told police that his nephew may have been mistaken to be one of the burglars who ransacked a nearby store past 3 a.m. yesterday.

The victim was a native of Tabuelan town but lived in his uncle’s house.

Police said the victim had no criminal records.

MOTORIST CAUGHT WITH GUN

A MAN who figured in a road accident in barangay Lawaan 2, Talisay City ended up in jail after he was caught possessing a gun.

Loreto Abanto, a resident of barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City, was injured after the motorcycle he was driving was sideswiped by a car in sitio Kalmar on Thursday afternoon.

Abanto is facing more woes after a .357 revolver with six bullets was found in his possession at the Talisay City District Hospital.

Abanto was later turned over to operatives of the Talisay police who then brought him to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for further treatment./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

FARMER KILLS LABORER

A CONSTRUCTION worker was stabbed dead by a farmer in barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Police said personal grudges could be the motive when Joemar Jimenez was stabbed by Crispin Pailan around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Jimenez was working in the house of Antonia Alonso when Pialan arrived and stabbed him in the back.
