League-leading Alaska tries to stay unbeaten, faces San Mig

THEIR LAST outing was to supposed to be a big test but the Alaska Aces hardly broke a sweat in defeating the mighty Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters, thus, keeping the team unbeaten in the 38th PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Alaska looks to keep its immaculate slate intact and likewise tries to finally nail a victory against its former coach when the Aces take on Tim Cone and the defending champions San Mig Coffee Mixers in today’s main game at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Aces are having a great run in the import-flavored tournament, occupying the solo number one spot with an impressive 5-0 (win-loss) card. The team’s last victory was an eye-popping 92-69 trashing of the Texters.

Alaska will be tested against the Coffee Mixers, who are on a two-game winning streak.

The Aces have something else to worry about against San Mig. Cone is 6-0 (win-loss) against the Aces—the team that he guided to 13 championships and a rare grandslam before leaving the team last year.

San Mig holds a 2-3 slate, winning three of their last three games since bringing import Deznel Bowles.
