Paknaan Chess Fest set this Sat

YOUNG wood pushers will converge in the barangay Paknaan gymnasium in Mandaue City to take part in the Barangay Paknaan Chess Fest on March 9.

The tournament will be handled by Kagawad Willy Semblante and Eden Diano. It is sponsored by the Paknaan Sangguniang Kabataan council.

The tournament will be having two categories, the Juniors Open and Women’s Open. Both will use a seven-round Swiss System format with a time control of 20 minutes per round.

The champions in both categories will bring home P2,000. Registration fee is pegged at P75. Registration will be held on the tournament day itself. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
