Gullas to delegate building of courts to grandson

THE cities of Naga and Carcar in Cebu’s 1st congressional district will have their own Regional Trial Court (RTC) after President Benigno Aquino III signed into law a bill authored by Rep. Eduardo Gullas of Cebu’s 1st district for this purpose.

Gullas, in a press conference, said they are just waiting for the assignment of judges in both cities.

He said his grandson, Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas could later work with the national government to allocate funds to build a Palace of Justice in the district.

Samsam is unopposed in his bid for 1st district representative in the May elections to succeed his grandfather.

But Gullas said that until a new building is constructed, the local governments of Naga and Carcar should help the Supreme Court find office spaces to use as temporary court rooms.
