Korean’s body found stuffed in plastic bag
The body of a Korean national who had been missing for more than a month was found stuffed in a transparent plastic bag in the waters off barangay Mambaling at South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City.
The victim, Beom Seok Seo alias Sky, 43, was identified through a photo left with the police by his friends who had reported his disappearance.
Construction workers called the Bantay Dagat after they found the plastic bag around noon Thursday.
Rodrigo Racal of Bantay Dagat brought the body to shore.
Police said the victim’s head was covered with a white sack. His feet were covered with a yellow sack tied with a plastic straw and rope.
The victim’s hands were bound with tape.
The victim lived in Collinwood Subdivision in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
The Korean was the general manager of KJL Tour Leader located in A.C. Cortes Street in barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue.
Chang Houn Lee, 45, manager of KJL, and Lyca Mae Abendan, 21, the firm’s secretary, went to the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City police last Jan. 15 to report the Beom’s disappearance.
The co-workers said started looking for Beom when they could no longer contact his cellphone.
Days passed but Chang and Abendan still failed to locate Beom that prompted them to seek help of the police.
Before he went missing, Beom reported to the police that the establishment was burgled by still-unidentified thieves and took almost P1 million.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry, indicating that the thieves used a key to open the door.
The thieves then took the money kept in a vault.
