Resorts World jeepney art tilt open till Nov. 10

Resorts World Manila is accepting concept board entries for its Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney (PUJ) Awards until November 10. Colored pencils are the required medium.

The PUJ Awards is part of RWM’s Grand Fiesta 2012. Taking off from last year’s miniature jeepney arts competition, RWM continues to fete the colorful jeepney through culture and the arts, this time with full-scale units as the main canvases. The contest is open to all artists who can reflect the theme “Grand Fiesta on the Road.”

Schools, local government units, formal and nonformal group of artists, art galleries, and other art enthusiasts are invited to join. The contest will have the “All Traditional Category,” as artists are initially required to present their designs on a 24 x 18 template, with perspectives from the front, side, back and top views.

Entries must include a rationale for the design. The Top 6 finalists shall then apply their designs on full-scale jeepney units to enter the final rounds of the contest. Selection for the six finalists will be on November 15, wherein the finalists will be awarded seed money for the full-scale painting and modifications.
