PIChe-Cebu celebrates Chemical Eng’g week

IN 2007, former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared the third week of September as Chemical Engineering Week through Proclamation No. 1365.

In observance of this, the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers – Cebu Chapter (PIChE-Cebu) will celebrate the 7th Chemical Engineering Week on Sept. 16 to 22.

During the week-long celebration, PIChE-Cebu lined up activities for the awareness and promotion of the chemical engineering profession.

Activities will open with a motorcade on Sept. 16 at 6 a.m. from J Center Mall in Mandaue City to D’ Family Park in Talamban, Cebu City, where the tree planting, Bisdak Olympics, awarding and induction ceremony will be held.

FEATURED STORIES

On Sept. 18 at 1 p.m., there will be inter-secondary schools science and math quiz bowl, ChE students’ exhibit and the promotion of the Chemical Engineering profession at the SM City-Consolacion Activity Center.

On Sept. 19, the Bioplus 2012 research presentation will be held at the Rigney Hall of University of San Carlos Talamban campus from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and PIChE sub-chapter fellowship bowling at SM City Cebu at 6 p.m.

The celebration will end with a feeding activity on Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town in northern Cebu.
