Agreement inked for Noah’s Ark disaster preparedness program
THE Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) and Smart Communications Inc. have partnered with the local government of Banago in Bacolod City to implement the Noah’s Ark program in the community.
Officials of CNDR, Smart, Bacolod City and Domingo Lacson National High School (DLNHS) signed the project agreement at DLNHS.
Under the agreement, CNDR through the funding from Smart will train local government officials and volunteers on setting up the systems and procedures on community flood early warning system, communication protocols and evacuation procedures.
The Noah’s Ark project in Banago is part of the citywide agreement signed by CNDR and Smart with Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia last March.
The program aims to help local government units and high-risk communities cope with the hazards of flooding.
