SANTA MAGDALENA, SORSOGON —Authorities found more than P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) inside a rectangular box that was abandoned in Matnog port in Sorsogon, Monday, Dec. 23.
Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, Bicol Police chief, said in a report on Monday evening that the box contained at least one kilogram of shabu valued at P6.8 million and placed in five plastic ice bags and 20 plastic sachets.
According to the report, the drugs was found after the port’s security officer reported the presence of the box out of suspicion.

Dizon said the person who left the box is yet to be identified. The Bicol Police chief assured that authorities are making efforts to apprehend the suspect.
Meanwhile, the confiscated evidence is now at the custody of Matnog police for “documentation and appropriate legal action.”
In September, more than P90 million worth of shabu were seized from two drug traffickers within the same port’s compound.
