Sec. Remulla has no health issues, DOJ clarifies

MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has no health issues and is “well and about,” said the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday.

DOJ Undersecretary Jesse Andres made the pronouncement to dispel rumors of Remulla currently being in the intensive care unit.

“The secretary is well and about, there is no issue with his health,” said Andres in a press conference.

“It is important that his executive time is preserved to deal with so many other things,” he added.

This isn’t the first time Remulla faced such hearsays.

In the past, Remulla was also the subject of several speculations, especially after he went on a wellness leave in 2023.

He then later bared that he underwent heart bypass surgery while on leave.
