Remulla suffers minor medical emergency
MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla suffered a “minor medical emergency” on Monday, according to an official of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Remulla was supposed to be the guest of honor and speaker at the 87th anniversary celebration of the National Bureau of Investigation at a hotel in Manila.
Justice Undersecretary Jose Cadiz instead delivered the speech of Remulla on the latter’s request. “I was on my way to the office when the good secretary called me and informed me that he has a minor medical emergency and he needs to go to the hospital. He asked me to deliver to you his message,” Cadiz told the crowd at the NBI anniversary.
Remulla held a press briefing at the DOJ later in the afternoon.
Earlier during the day, DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano, when asked about Remulla’s condition, told reporters: “All is good. He is in the office already. No cause for worry. It’s just the weather.”
