LUCENA CITY — Two suspected major drug traffickers were apprehended on Monday, Oct. 14, in buy-bust operations in Rizal and Laguna provinces.
The operations resulted in the seizure of more than P802,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth), according to the police.
The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported that anti-narcotics operatives in Antipolo City, Rizal apprehended “Jerico” at 10 p.m. after he sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay San Roque.

Seized from the suspect, classified as a high-value individual or ‘HVI’ in the illegal drugs trade, were 13 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 85 grams worth P757,316.
In Calamba City, Laguna, a police drug enforcement unit arrested “Arvin” at 1:30 p.m. in Barangay San Cristobal.
The suspect, recognized as a street-level drug pusher in the locality, was found with seven sachets containing 35 grams of shabu worth P224,800 and a digital weighing scale.
Rizal and Laguna police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
Two mobile phones were seized during the operations and will be examined for records of drug transactions.
Both suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
